Glauco’s Storia di Carica
Glauco Rosso, his story as a young entrepreneur from Friuli with an extra gear, the electric one…
We know that your first trip with an electric vehicle, in 2013, changed your life. What were your feelings on that trip?
I felt the need to know more, to make this absolute technological innovation my own. I clearly understood that electric would become my new mobility.
You are known as the pioneer and you are a role model in this change. How has this activity to which you have decided to dedicate yourself fully improved your life?
I was very shy when I was young, Since I dedicated myself to electric mobility I have found that I can interact more easily with others. it has become a topic of socialization for me and this has changed my relationships with people a lot. I was one of the first ten people in Friuli to have an electric car, which is perhaps why I became a kind of guru to ask for advice and information about it.
What do you particularly like about traveling with an electric vehicle?
It is quiet and therefore relaxing. It also forces the driver to pay more attention to driving: pedestrians, like cyclists, do not hear the car coming, so it is important to feel even more responsible behind the wheel. I believe that a trip on an electric vehicle is more respectful towards others in 360 degrees.
What would you do to further improve your territory?
I would like to be able to interface more with institutions, or with those who can really decide the change. Here in Friuli, being on the border with Slovenia where petrol is cheaper, all motorists have a card that allows them to refuel at petrol stations with a percentage discount. I find that if the same energies and economic resources were used to promote and build a culture that looks at electric mobility, this would greatly improve the area in which I live.
The most “sustainable” city you have visited:
Trento and Bolzano on an equal footing. In general, Trentino Alto Adige is a much more sustainable region than the other Italian ones. Still talking about e-mobility, here I found charging points that are very well distributed throughout the area and well maintained. But I think it’s really a cultural issue: too often in our part of Italy we still use to park in the spaces dedicated to charging electric cars.
A trip / itinerary with electric vehicles that you recommend:
I definitely recommend a mountain itinerary. The electric car allows you to drive through woods and breathtaking views without disturbing any noise. I recently visited the Fusine lakes, which can be reached directly by car.
There is no going back, the future is electric!
